This recipe comes from Pallavi, our bookkeeper. Pallavi created a no-cook chutney out of garlic scapes. It’s a great alternative for those who enjoy garlic scape pesto but want to try something a little different. She says it freezes well, too!

No-cook Garlic Scape Chutney


  • 3 garlic scapes
  • 1-2 green chilies, or to taste
  • 3/4 cup almonds (or used blanched edamame or silken tofu for a nut-free version)
  • 1/2 bunch cilantro
  • juice of 1 lime or lemon (or more,to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp roasted cumin seeds
  • salt to taste

Blend all ingredients in a blender or food processor until smooth. Enjoy as a condiment for any savory dish, or on sandwiches.
